CD's I've composed, arranged & produced from 1995-2011.

Advanced New Age' 1995, Mike Ogle, BMI.
My first CD... back when blank recordable compact discs sold for
45 dollars (each)! I chose twelve songs I'd written from in between 1983'
and 1994'. I rented an ADAT recorder, plugged it into the back of my
mixer and played my three Ensoniq multitrack sequencers into it. I put the
bass guitars on afterwards. A computer was still some years away' for me.

Aesthetics' 1998, Mike Ogle, BMI.
On this CD, I introduced adding spoken word into my music, as well as'
creating the most complicated arrangements I'd ever done up to that point.
I realized that I'd have to start getting introduced to computer technology
eventually, but I'd already written 90% of the music for this, so I delayed
buying one. I did it the old way; analog recording/analog mix/digital transfer.

Titanium Butterfly' 2001, Mike Ogle, BMI.
After seeing my favorite composers now using computers to record their
music' I finally jumped-in' and did this 3rd CD in full digital. Things started
to get expensive from here on out. I wanted to record in 24-bit/48kHz
resolution to keep up with the Joneses'. After it was done, I learned that it
didn't matter that much. As long as there weren't any pops or crackling.

21 Movements 4 TV' 2004, Mike Ogle, BMI.
Nearly everyone who has heard my music says' that I sound like a movie.
This CD was directly written with that critique in mind. I wrote each (song)
to be roughly 90 seconds in length; to fit into TV time. I also entered into the
new world of gigabyte-sized sampled instruments. The sampler Gigastudio'
was added into my writing palette - a technological nightmare back then.

Stop This Mad Carnival' 2008, Mike Ogle, BMI.
I wanted to see if I could write lyrics to my music, and this CD was the
result. I thought it was Pop Rock', but after playing it for a musician I trusted,
I was told it was still' too complicated for Pop'... even though it had words.
This was the last CD I used analog hardware on. I also changed sampler
programs to Kontakt'. No more being an unpaid beta tester for Gigastudio.

Where I was' 2011, Mike Ogle, BMI.
For my most current CD, I bought the fastest hard drives available,
the most RAM, the newest motherboard, the latest VST's - the works.
I ejected what was re-creatable by software and kept the instruments that
computers couldn't imitate. I've come full circle; back to the writing' of music
as the first priority. I tamed the technology and tell it' what to do now.
